June has been all about switching things up and enjoying different sports.
With the hot summer days kicking in, we’ve been spending a lot more time on the bike, especially riding in the Dolomites. Long climbs, breathtaking views, and endless mountain roads—it’s been an amazing way to stay active while giving climbing a bit of a break.
Cycling in the Dolomites – A Perfect Summer Escape
The Dolomites are an absolute dream for road cycling. The combination of long ascents, epic descents, and stunning landscapes makes every ride an adventure. It’s a completely different kind of endurance challenge compared to climbing, but one that feels super rewarding.
Spending hours on the bike has also been a great mental reset, allowing me to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about grades, routes, or finger strength. Just pedal, take in the views, and enjoy the ride.
Treadwall Training – Early Mornings Only
With the summer heat, my DIY Treadwall sessions have been limited to the mornings. The room just gets too hot during the day, so I’ve been keeping my climbing training short and focused in the early hours. The overall training volume has been slightly reduced, but I’m still maintaining enough sessions to stay in shape.
For now, I’m enjoying this slightly more relaxed phase, balancing cycling, climbing, and summer vibes. Training doesn’t always have to be at full intensity—sometimes, mixing things up is the best way to stay motivated! ☀️🚴♂️💪
