To end the year on a high note, we spent New Year's in Penna Valley, Liguria, Italy, and it was the perfect way to celebrate. The place was packed with climbers, but for a good reason—amazing rock, stunning scenery, and great winter conditions.
Crowded but Worth It
Since it was the holiday season, we weren’t the only ones with the idea of spending New Year’s climbing. The crags were pretty busy, and finding routes without waiting was sometimes a challenge. But honestly, with such high-quality limestone, it was totally worth it. Sharp, solid holds, beautiful lines, and technical climbing—exactly what I love.
Cold in the Shade, Perfect in the Sun
The temperatures were on the colder side, especially in the shade. Mornings were a bit tough, and warming up took longer than usual. But as soon as the sun hit the rock, it felt perfect. Climbing in the winter sun, with blue skies above and incredible views all around, made it an amazing way to close out the year.
A Great Start to 2025
Kicking off the new year on real rock, surrounded by friends, and pushing myself on beautiful routes—I couldn't ask for a better way to start 2025. Now, back home, it’s time to reset, train, and start planning the next adventures.
Excited for what this year will bring! 🔥🧗♂️
